Lozt Prophetz Demo

Bit of a dodgy name it has to be said, at least in the spelling. Brings to mind Limp Bizkit almost immediately. But that shouldn't cloud my judgement. Mind you, the music brings that to mind as well anyway.

And in terms of the music, it is pretty good. I'm not a huge LB fan, so it maybe doesn't grab me quite as much, but well, you can read between the lines there for yourself. If you like that sort of music, this comes recommended.

I guess my main problem with this is that these guys are Welsh like me, but they seem to be trying to be American, and part of that Limp Bizkit scene. But Wales just simply isn't California or Florida. When British bands try to be American, (in everything, sound and image) it doesn't really work. But the use of Z's everywhere. Talk of “bitch” this and “hey bitch” that. It's all a bit, well, it's trying to hard. Talking like you grew up in a US ghetto. And besides, from a personal standpoint, I don't care for all this “bitches” talk. Doesn't seem respectful to me. But that's just me.

It's the same as UK hardcore bands are not from New York and shouldn't even try to be, the same with this. Be yourself and establish your own identity. If they did that then I think I'd like it more, cos there is certainly a lot of potential there. But try to be something that you're not, and you'll be swept away when the next trend comes along to take its place. Maybe that's too superficial of me, but that's how I see it.

Still, if you like this sort of thing, get in touch with them and get hold of a copy, cos you probably won't be disappointed.
