Openers Professional MurderMusic are a case study in just how fertile the LA underground scene is. Seeminlgy minutes are the break-ups of their respective bands, Human Waste Porject bassist Jeff Schartoff and Tura Satana guitarist Brian Harrah have chosen tonight to debut their new quintet.
PMM play an industrial-styled downtuned racket, with pumping mechanical percussion. It's never easy to perform new material in an opening slot, but the Professionals aquit themselves handily. Then again, no one killed anybody else in the club during their set, so their name fails the "truth in advertising" claim.
